Carrigaline United U15B rounded off their home fixtures in style with an emphatic 7–1 win over a spirited Ballincollig side. ⚽️💙

Carrigaline took control early on, but some excellent defending from Ballincollig frustrated the home team in the opening stages. The breakthrough finally came after about 25 minutes when Lily Aherne struck a magnificent effort from wide on the left to get Carrigaline up and running.

Kate Cunningham added two more before halftime, either side of a lovely goal from Abbie O’Driscoll, who produced a superb lob over the visiting keeper.

The second half was a tighter affair. Cunningham completed her hat-trick early in the half before Ballincollig grabbed a deserved consolation goal. Sarah Rose then added Carrigaline’s sixth, and Cunningham capped off a superb individual performance by grabbing her fourth to seal the 7–1 victory.

While it was a great day for the forwards, there were strong performances all over the pitch. Rebekah Gubbins was rock solid in goal behind the centre-half partnership of Chloe Moriarty and Rachel Forde. Full-backs Muireann Lyne and Tianna Gregan weren’t afraid to push forward, while Grace Donnelly, Tara Desmond, Mercy Popola and Emily Joyce kept Carrigaline dangerous in midfield. Jessica O’Neill was a constant threat up front.

Well done to the girls on a fantastic team performance! 👏⚽️💙
