🇺🇦⚽⚽ *CUAFC Club Members update of The 5 Mile Lands* ⚽⚽🇺🇦
Hi All – This is just a quick update to let you all know exactly where we are with our recent purchase of lands at The 5 Mile.
We have completed the full purchase of 24 Acres of land in late 2025. Currently we are working with a Planning Consultancy Firm to design up a facility that will hopefully secure the future of CUAFC in relation to Facilities and Pitches. Please see below our timeline:
• Late 2025 – Finalised Land Purchase
• JAN/FEB/MAR/APR 2026 – Design and Planning meetings with Planners, Council and local TDs.
• MAY 2026 – Full planning application to be applied for
• MAY/JUNJULY 2026 – Planning Documents to be reviewed by County Council
• AUG 2026 – Any questions or more information required by Cork County Council to be addressed.
• SEP/OCT 2026 – We should know the outcome of the planning decision.
In the meantime, we have been approached by Father James of Carrigaline Parish to make these lands available for a charitable event – undertaken by Father James & some local contractors – where Barley will be sown on the lands – harvested in August and the money raised by will given to 3 Charities.
We feel this is of huge benefit to the nominated charities as all Land, Labour and Produce will be donated by the relevant people involved. There is chance here to raise thousands of euros for local causes.
Over the next few days you might see the area being ploughed and seeds planted at The 5 Mile.
By late August the Barley should be harvested and the land returned to normal – and hopefully with good news on the Planning we can start to work on getting our new site developed.
Thanks for your time
